Always active in the music community, Brittany Cox started the cello in Chesapeake Virginia at the age of 10. In 2012, she performed at the Virginia Music Educators Association Conference (VMEA) as a featured soloist, and a year later won the 2013 GOPA Concerto Competition. Brittany regularly performs in the East Carolina Symphony Orchestra, is involved in several small ensembles on campus. She is an active participant in several festivals under the direction of Ara Gregorian including: Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival, Next Generation and Next Generation on the Road, traveling to New Bern, Raleigh, Virginia Beach, Boone, and Charlotte. Brittany has performed in several public master classes for distinguished cellists Zvi Plesser, Raman Ramakrishnan, Colin Carr, and Bonnie Thron. Teaching in the community, Brittany has volunteered her time providing lessons and master classes at local secondary schools in Greenville and the surrounding areas. Brittany has taught at several music camps, including The Summer Chamber Music Institute at East Carolina University.
Brittany Cox is currently pursuing her BM in Music Education at East Carolina Universty and studies cello under Emanuel Gruber. Brittany teaching privately in the Pitt County area and will graduate in May 2017.
